The Red Sea – Exodus 14:21
God made a way for Israel to walk through the waters of the Red Sea, even when they were in the middle of the deep blue sea. He did this by dividing the waters.
This is a remarkable miracle in the Old Testament, as well as being one that shows how God still works wonders today.
In this passage, God told Moses to stretch out his hand over the sea. And when Moses did this, the sea receded all night by a strong east wind, and the waters were divided. Then the people of Israel went through the sea on dry ground.
It is a remarkable miracle that God can open up a way for you in the midst of a sea of trouble, even when you are trapped by circumstances and it looks like there is no hope.
The Lord was able to create an unexpected route for them, and then He used it to deliver them from their enemies and give them the land that they had been seeking.
God produced this miracle for Israel through Moses. It then moves to a description of how He used the action that was taken by Moses to destroy the Egyptian army, and finally to the end where the people saw what happened and feared the Lord.
