What profit a man if he gains the whole world and lose his soul? Mark 8:36 KJV When Jesus asks this question, He is asking what is the benefit of a man gaining the whole world if he loses his own soul? The question is an extremely difficult one to answer, but it’s a very common one in the Bible. A man can have the entire earth and still lose his soul. That’s what Jesus was attempting to point out when he said, “What do you think the world will do for you if you gain it and lose your soul?”
A Man Can Get All The Material Things In Life
A man can get all the material things in life, but he must also have a right relationship with Christ. If he dies without having a right relationship with him, he will spend eternity in the lake of fire. Earlier, Jesus was predicting the sufferings of Christ and his resurrection. In Matthew 16:23 ESV, Jesus rebuked Peter and said that he had only human concerns.
A Christian brother can run a family business that has been in the family for three generations. He can earn obscene annual profits by dishonesty and immoral behavior. The same holds true for a Christian. It’s possible to have the whole world, yet lose the soul.
What is the meaning of “save?” The word save comes from the Greek root word Sozo, which means to save from harm. The word Kerdaino can mean to gain or win. Therefore, saving the soul involves rescuing the soul. In this passage, Jesus is comparing the soul to live and contrasting it with the world. If a man gains the whole world but loses his soul, his life will not be worth living.
It Is The Purpose Of The Lord That Will Stand
The Bible says in Proverbs 19:21 ESV “Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.”
What is the purpose of life? In the Bible, the answer is given by God. This knowledge is important for us to understand our purpose. We must also seek to understand how our actions affect others. Often, the answer will be found in the form of our actions. The purpose of our lives is outlined in the Bible. However, we need to remember that we are the ones who must find our own meaning in life.
King Solomon was a man who sought the meaning of life. He was the most successful king of his time and possessed wealth and wisdom beyond his age. Yet, he experienced a deep sense of emptiness. Eventually, he confessed that he had no real purpose in this world and felt no kinship with God. He had hundreds of women and palaces envied by kingdoms. He had every kind of luxury and he never questioned whether he was happy, as he had no sense of what was important.
Our Purpose Is To Worship God
John 4:23-24 ESV “23 But the hour is coming, and is now here when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him. 24 God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.”
Our Purpose Is To Serve God By Serving Others
Ephesians 2:10 TLB “It is God himself who has made us what we are and given us new lives from Christ Jesus, and long ages ago he planned that we should spend these lives in helping others.
Jesus summed it all when someone ask Him “‘Teacher, what is the greatest commandment in the Law?’ He replied,”‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your being, and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: You must love your neighbor as you love yourself. All the Law and the Prophets depend on these two commands.” We can’t worship without loving God and we can’t serve others without loving them.
From God’s Perspective, You’ll Never Be Lost
You must not be too concerned with earthly concerns, but with God’s perspective, you’ll never be lost. You’ll only live as long as you are faithful to Jesus. You’ll know what’s truly important when you die.
It’s important to remember that Jesus is talking about salvation. While he talks about gaining the world, he is also talking about losing his soul. The world is not about gaining the whole world. It refers to the life we have. In this passage, the soul is the same as the body. It is life and death. The Bible defines these two concepts in terms of the soul.
The word “soul” in the Bible is an ambiguous word. It can mean many different things. In the Bible, it means life. It can be misplaced or out of existence. In this context, the phrase “losing the soul” relates to the death of our physical life. By losing the soul, Jesus is referring to the loss of the life we have lost in the next world.
Likewise, a Christian can lose his soul by becoming the richest woman in history. She will lose her soul and will be cast into the fire. If she abandons the Lord, she will lose her salvation. A Christian man can gain the world and keep his soul. However, he cannot gain the kingdom of God and will lose his life.
What Is More Valuable A Man’s Life Or His Soul?
Ultimately, the answer to “What is more valuable a man’s life, or his soul?” Is simple. The worldly things are temporal and the soul is eternal. While we are to cherish the things we can see, they are not worth much. That’s why a man’s soul is eternal. This eternal value cannot be measured by the value of his life.
The life of a man is priceless, but the value of his soul is infinite. A man can buy the whole world, but he can never replace it. Likewise, he can never buy his soul back. The soul is priceless, and no one can replace it. So, a man’s life is worth much more than his body.
The worth of a man’s life is not gauged by the money he makes. However, a man’s soul is worth more than his life. He cannot exchange his soul for money, so the question must be asked: What is more important in a human’s life?
God created the soul. His value is infinite. He has placed a price on the soul of a man. And Jesus showed this by giving himself to die for us.
