What Does 1 Corinthians 15:55-57 Say About the Resurrection of the Dead?
Paul argues that the resurrection of the dead is an important part of Christian teaching and practice. It is a foundation of our faith in Jesus Christ and the resurrected life. He begins by explaining that the body of the dead will not be the same as the body of the living.

When we sin, we are separated from the purity of God and from his will. But when we are transformed by the renewing of our minds, we can begin to understand how to live righteously in this world.
These changes are necessary to overcome the corruption that has accumulated within us through our sin. It is impossible for us to transform ourselves without the help of God.
This is why we should not resist the transformation of our minds through the renewing of our hearts by the power of the Holy Spirit. It is our job to learn how to follow God and walk in His ways, so that we can have the abundant life that Christ has won for us.
When the corruptible has put on incorruption and the mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.” (verse 54). Then, as Paul says in verse 55, “O death, where is your sting? O grave, where is your victory?” This is an expression from Hosea 13:14. The question posed in Hosea is meant to emphasize that one day God will defeat the power of death and bring His people back from the grave.
