God’s Creation is Good – 1 Timothy 4:4

The early Christians often looked to the regularities of creation (the “natural laws” and “regularities of nature”) as evidence of the goodness of God. They were convinced that God ordained the way of nature, and therefore, all natural phenomena are subject to his will.

In this passage, Paul reminds Timothy that God’s creation is a gift to mankind and that it is not to be rejected, but to be received with thankfulness. This is one of the most important truths in Christianity, which can be found in many places in Scripture.

This is especially true of the earth and its creatures, which are uniquely created by God to be his possession. The world’s natural processes are designed to bring about justice and flourishing, as God intended them to be.

When we see how God has crafted this world, we can understand why it is so good to him and to us. It is an expression of his glory and he delights in it.

We can also understand why he declares it good in Genesis 1:31. This verse is a foundational statement in the Bible that teaches us that everything God creates is intrinsically good, which gives Christians hope.

This is the basis for the idea of shalom, which is a biblical concept that means the webbing together of the divine and human order in justice, flourishing, and delight. We can find this idea in Genesis and in Jesus’ teachings.
