Isaiah 26:3 – You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.
In a world of conflict, tribulation, and death, the only rest believers can find is found in the presence of God.
We need to be at peace with God, who has a plan for our lives and is working all things together for our good (Romans 8:28). In this article we will explore the words of Isaiah 26:3: You will keep him in perfect peace Whose mind is stayed on You; because he trusts in You!
Isaiah is rehearsing the day of redemption, when Israel will be redeemed and restored. After this time, they will be able to walk in the paths of righteousness and enjoy God’s peace.
The peace of God is the only real and lasting rest for a believer in Christ, who has been given a new identity as a child of the most high God. It is the kind of peace that transcends all understanding, and it will guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
It will also shield you from false teaching, because Paul calls the Colossians to live a holy lifestyle that is consistent with their new identity in Christ (Col. 3:22-24).
He will show you what is acceptable in His sight, so that you may be pure and blameless before Him (Romans 12:2). And when you are tempted, do not say, “God is tempting me.”
Instead, say, “I will wait for Him!” Then you will experience the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding. He will give you strength to overcome every obstacle that comes your way.
