Mark 11:25 – Jesus Angry With the Temple Priests

Mark 11:25 – And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.”

When Jesus enters Jerusalem, the Temple courts become crowded with people. He is surrounded by the priests, teachers, and elders. They begin a long argument with Jesus. They ask Him to explain his authority.

But He explains that the authority comes from God, who is his Father in heaven. He also tells them to forgive those who trespass against them, because their Father in heaven will also forgive them.

He says that anyone who prays to him for help will be given it. This is another example of how he repeatedly teaches his followers to live their lives in obedience to him.

In chapter 11 Jesus begins a conflict with the scribes and chief priests who are trying to get him to deny that he is the Son of God. He also warns His disciples that they will have to leave Jerusalem because it is going to be destroyed.

The story in Mark is a very interesting one. It shows that Jesus is very angry with the exploitation of the pilgrims in the Temple courts and that He will fight back against it. He is also angered with the desecration of the sacred.

There are several things that we can learn from this incident.

First, it is a slap in the face to the Jews who had waited so long for the Messiah. They had believed that the Messiah would bring them peace and prosperity, but instead they were now suffering the consequences of their rejection.
