God Promises That Healing is Yours – 1 Peter 2:24
One of the most popular verses in the Bible is 1 Peter 2:24 which says, “Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may have the power to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ.” Many people take this verse to mean that God wants every believer to be in good health.
This belief can be difficult to accept if you are dealing with an illness or injury, especially if it is a lifelong issue. Whether or not you believe in God’s promises to heal, there are things you can do that will help you gain the confidence and faith necessary to receive a healing from God.
1. Draw Near to God
In order to gain the trust of God you must first be close to Him. In other words, you must have a relationship with Him through prayer and study of His Word.
2. Purify your heart and hands
The devil can try to hinder your ability to receive a healing from God by tempting you to sin. Identify these temptations and turn away from them.
3. Be a Disciple of Jesus
A disciple is someone who has been saved by the death and resurrection of Jesus. The person who follows Jesus will have a relationship with Him, and be able to grow spiritually, emotionally, and physically. In addition to that, the follower of Jesus will be able to perform great works for the glory of God and to spread the message of His kingdom to others.
