God Promises Wisdom and Guidance. He will satisfy our desires in the scorched places. He will make our bones strong. When we follow God, our hearts are like a spring of water and our bones will be watered. We will hear the word “this is the way” whenever we turn and an abundance of counselors will be at our side. And when we face a hard situation, we will be calmed and safe because He is with us.
Be Faithful
Proverbs 8:13ย ESV The fear of theย Lordย is hatred of evil. Pride and arrogance and the way of evil and perverted speech I hate.
To receive wisdom from God, you must first believe and trust Him. Believing in God and asking Him for wisdom does not mean you are disobeying Him. Be faithful to Him by keeping His commandments, avoiding sin, and obeying His words. Wisdom and guidance will be revealed to you when you heed His advice and seek His counsel. Here are some ways you can be faithful to God and receive wisdom from Him.
The first step is to acknowledge God in everything you do. This means in your prayers, in your thoughts, and in your actions. When you have a problem or a difficult time, always acknowledge God. Remember
Proverbs 3:7 “Fear God, and turn away from evil.” This verse reminds us of the importance of turning away from evil and fearing God. When we lose faith in God, we start making bad decisions and fail to use His guidance.
Be Humble
1 Peter 5:6ย ESV Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you
The Bible says, “Be humble, and God will give you wisdom and guidance.” Those who are humble can expect God to lead them in all they need. However, “humble” is not synonymous with weak or timid. Meekness means strength under control. C. S. Lewis explains that humble people do not think less of themselves. Their strength is tempered by their need to please others. The result is a humble attitude that brings blessings.
The first virtue of wisdom is fear of the Lord. Having humility is the key to overcoming wicked practices. Wise people have good judgment. Therefore, they practice prudence and seek wisdom. They increase their knowledge and develop their wisdom, which will enhance their judgment. Humility helps you overcome wicked practices, so you will be able to make wise decisions. When God promises wisdom and guidance, you must learn to live up to your responsibility to do so.
Be Confident
2 Timothy 3:17ย ESV That the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work.
We have the assurance of God’s promise to provide us with wisdom and guidance. Jesus walked in the way of wisdom and guidance. As his followers, we should be humble and seek his wisdom when we face a challenge. Developing wisdom will help us overcome wicked practices. Wisdom helps us make good judgments. The more knowledge we have, the better our judgment will be. Therefore, we should develop our wisdom by practicing prudence.
Be Persistent
James 1:12ย ESV Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.
We will encounter many struggles throughout our lives. These difficulties can make us feel vulnerable. And working through them isn’t easy or quick. Yet Bible verses about perseverance can help us stay the course despite tough times. Here are ways to become more persistent when God promises wisdom and guidance:
Remember, the Bible doesn’t cover every decision you may face. Some big ones aren’t even mentioned. If you’re facing a major decision, you may wish that God would write his will on the wall and speak to you through a booming voice. But God prefers persistent people who seek his guidance. Remember, Jesus said to seek the kingdom of God above all else and to live righteously.
Be a God-Fearing Person
Psalm 111:10ย ESV The fear of theย Lordย is the beginning of wisdom; all those who practice it have a good understanding. His praise endures forever!
Becoming a god-fearing person begins with humbleness before God. The Bible encourages us to fear the Lord, and in so doing, we gain spiritual riches that cannot be measured. Fearing the Lord is the key to spiritual riches, as it gives us wisdom and guidance. Those who fear God are protected from the evil in this world. We can’t have wisdom if we’re afraid of man, and that is ridiculous.
Being a god-fearing person leads to a humble sense of confidence and spiritual comfort. The fear of the Lord is closely linked to the anointing of the Holy Spirit, which comes after we fear the Lord. When we fear the Lord, we have a powerful sense of His presence. When we fear the Lord, we have confidence that He will provide for our every need. Furthermore, fearing God makes us confident that He will deliver us from death.
