Seek First His Kingdom and His Righteousness – Matthew 6:33
Those who live a life of seeking first God’s kingdom and His righteousness will find that He gives them everything they need, including their physical needs. Jesus speaks this teaching in Matthew 6:33, which is part of a sermon that he called the “Sermon on the Mount.” The Sermon on the Mount is often referred to as one of the most important teachings of Christ and is considered a foundational book in the New Testament.
The Kingdom of God is a place where all things will be under the rule and reign of Christ and the saints (rulers). It is a world that is filled with peace, joy, and righteousness. It is also a world where God’s love and grace are experienced by all people.
In this day and age, there are many who seek their lives through material means. This is especially true for young adults who are pursuing careers and education paths that seem to leave little time for a relationship with God.
When we seek our lives through reliance on material things, we are setting ourselves up for disappointment and failure. However, when we seek our lives through reliance and obedience to God, we are setting ourselves up for a lifetime of peace, joy and success.
Do you need to learn to trust in God’s provision?
Seeking first God’s kingdom and His righteousness means a life of ongoing repentance from sin and leading the kind of sincere, devoted-to-God lifestyle that Jesus is teaching us. It also means living a life that is committed to the Kingdom of God, putting everything we do and say in God’s light and purpose.
