For The Lord Delights in You

You shall no more be termed Forsaken, and your land shall no more be termed Desolate,
but you shall be called My Delight Is in Her, and your land Married; for the Lord delights in you, and your land shall be married. For as a young man marries a young woman, so shall your sons marry you,
and as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, shall your God rejoice over you. Isaiah 62:4-5 ESV

You must have heard how much the Lord loves you. Because He loves you so much He sent His only Son who sacrificed His life to pay for your sins and save you from eternal death John 3:16. It’s great, isn’t it? What is even more intense is that He did that when you were still enemies Romans 5:10. Who else would give you such love? It makes me cry to think that someone loves us all like this. It’s also scary. Why? Because we are nothing for God to love us, we can’t stop thinking that at any time He can take this love back and there is nothing we can do to get it back. But fortunately, the Bible says that this will not happen Romans 8:35-39.

Brother, you don’t have to worry because God’s love will not change Psalms 136. And He doesn’t just love you, He’s also happy with you! His love isn’t the only reason He won’t leave you, He also cries for joy every time He sees you—like a young man every time he sees his girlfriend, especially on their wedding day Isaiah 62:4-5.

Is it too much? It is hard to imagine or accept that God is happy every time He sees us, this is what He said to the Jews who were taken captive because of their wickedness and unfaithfulness to God. He will do everything to clean and straighten His wayward people Isaiah 62:1-3. He will do the same for you: He will straighten you, clean you, and change you until He can be proud of you because of your beauty and brilliance. All you have to do is accept His love with all your heart and let yourself experience the deliciousness and glory of this love.

LET’S PRAY:

Lord, make me feel Your love. I don’t want it to be just head knowledge. I want it to be very real to me. And may this love overflow to all the people around me and they too come to You and feel Your love. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

APPLICATION:

Read Isaiah 62:1-5 slowly. Savor every word, as if God were speaking it to you. Feel every word, especially the words that describe what He sees in you. Mark every word that touches you as you read. Be open to God’s personal message for you.
