For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11 ESV
When you’re browsing social media, you might be seeing your former classmate’s posts about his success as a boss, while you’re at home taking care of your kids. It makes you wonder what has happened in your life. What you don’t know is that your former classmate may be stressed about his job and what he wants is the life you have. When you measure yourself based on other people’s lives, you will feel like you are really being left behind.
But the truth is, God has a good plan for you. You may have had to stop working during this time because someone had to take care of your child. But more than that, the Lord could be honing you to be more understanding and compassionate, and He’s doing that through the experiences that you’re going through as a mom during this season. God may also want you to train your growing child according to the beautiful and biblical work ethics that you have so that, in the future, he will also be good in whatever career path he takes.
There are many reasons why you are in the situation or position you are in today. No matter what season of life you are going through right now, one thing is for sure: God always has a good plan for you.
LET’S PRAY:
Lord, help me not to look at other people’s lives, instead, train my eyes to focus on You and what You’re doing in my life. Allow me to have the grace to do the piece of work to be done You have given me. And thank You that You never tire of reminding me how special I am to You and how wonderful Your plan for me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
