Dear God,
I come to you today humbled and broken by my own mistakes and shortcomings. I know that I have sinned against you, and I ask for your forgiveness based on the promise found in 1 John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”
I am so grateful that your love for me is not based on my own merit but on your grace and compassion. I confess my sins to you, and I ask that you would purify me from all unrighteousness.
Help me to turn away from my sinful ways and to walk in the light of your truth. Strengthen me in my resolve to live a life that honors you. Thank you for your patience and kindness towards me, even when I fall short.
I pray that you would fill me with your peace and joy and that I would be a reflection of your love to those around me. May my life be a testimony to your faithfulness and goodness.
Thank you for your promise of forgiveness, and for the gift of salvation through your son Jesus Christ. I pray this in His name, Amen.
