Fix Our Eyes On Jesus – Hebrews 12:1-2
When we walk through the darkest times or search for perspective in our lives, God wants us to fix our eyes on Him. It is our focus on Him that will give us supernatural peace and security.
Hebrews 12:1-2 is a passage that reveals what the Bible calls “the better way.” It contrasts two great assemblies of people. The first, Mount Sinai, was all about the old covenant based on exclusion and Law; the second, Mount Zion, is all about the new covenant based on invitation and grace.
The New Covenant is a more powerful and more loving arrangement. It is a relationship with the Lord and His Son Jesus Christ that was initiated by His death on the cross.
As a result, it is far more important for us to be fixed our eyes on Jesus than it is to go back to the old ways of earning and deserving. The more we focus on Jesus, the more we will run with perseverance and overcome our struggles.
