Introduction: God’s Plan for Mankind
The Bible tells us that from the very beginning, God had a plan for mankind. He created human beings in His image and likeness, with the intention of having an intimate relationship with them. However, when Adam and Eve disobeyed God by eating from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, they brought sin into the world, which separated humans from their Creator. But even then, God was already working on a way to restore this broken relationship through his Son, Jesus Christ.
Creation and the Fall of Man
In Genesis chapter one, we read about how God created everything in six days, including man and woman. On the sixth day, he said “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness” (Genesis 1:26). This means that human beings were made to reflect God’s character and nature. Unfortunately, as mentioned earlier, Adam and Eve sinned against God, bringing death and destruction into the world. As a result, all humans are born with a sinful nature, making it impossible for us to save ourselves or earn our salvation through good works alone.
Noah’s Ark and the Flood
Despite the fall of man, God still loved humanity enough to provide a way out of judgment. In Genesis chapter six, we learn about Noah and the ark. Because of the wickedness of mankind, God decided to flood the earth, but he spared Noah and his family because they found favor in his eyes. The story of Noah teaches us two important things: firstly, that God is just and will judge evil; secondly, that he provides a way of escape for those who seek him.
Moses and the Exodus
Another key figure in the Old Testament is Moses. Through him, God delivered Israel from slavery in Egypt and led them towards the Promised Land. The exodus serves as a powerful metaphor for salvation – just as the Israelites were set free from bondage, so too can we find freedom from sin through faith in Jesus Christ.

Conclusion
Throughout history, God has been at work, laying the groundwork for the coming of his Son, Jesus Christ. From creation to the exodus, from the prophets to John the Baptist, every event in Scripture points towards the ultimate fulfillment of God’s plan: the redemption of mankind through the sacrifice of his only begotten Son. And while we may not always understand why certain events happen, we can trust that God is faithful and loving, and that he desires nothing more than to have a personal relationship with each and every one of us.
