Ask For Anything in Jesus’ Name – John 16:24
Jesus describes the joy of being born into His kingdom as an immeasurably valuable reward Matthew 13:44.
The disciples needed to understand that their future as disciples was not going to be easy or comfortable. They would be called to endure great hardships (Matthew 16:24), and even the death of their Master (Matthew 27:45-56).
Jesus also used this parable to teach them that they could move mountains through prayer in faith. That is, they would be able to help people experience fruitfulness and growth in their lives by believing that God could do what He wanted to do through them.
They could also pray in Christ’s name, and he would hear them.
When we pray in Jesus’ name, it makes the difference between a perfunctory, un-fruitful prayer and a passionate one that is not only effective but also life changing. We are able to receive blessings from the Father in heaven that we could never have received otherwise, and this is only possible through the power of Jesus’ life and ministry.
We can ask for anything in Jesus’ name, and He will answer us in ways that are beyond our understanding and even beyond our ability to imagine. The best way to pray in this manner is by asking for what the Spirit is directing you to and then trusting that He will meet your request with everything you need in order to get it.
