God Promises Salvation to those who believes in Jesus – John 3:16
We are all familiar with the powerful, popular Bible verse, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life” (John 3: 16). It is the most well known and widely used Bible verse.
It is important to understand the meaning of this verse, and why it is so much a part of our daily lives. It is a great reminder of God’s love for us, and of our own sinful condition before we receive salvation.
But, if we understand what this verse means, we will be able to live in it as our foundation of faith and life. It will shape our decisions, influence our actions and reorient our lives towards God.
A Christian is one who has been born again by the Holy Spirit and whose life is permeated with the gospel message of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. This is the only way to have eternal life with God in heaven.
If you have not been born again by the Holy Spirit, you are a lost sinner and you will not be saved. The only way to become a Christian is by believing in the Lord Jesus Christ and clinging to Him alone.
