Building Your House on a Rock – The Parable of the Wise Man and the Foolish Man
Jesus uses the parable of the wise man and the foolish man to contrast two foundations for life. One is built on Jesus’ teaching, the other is not.
The wise man builds his house on a rock, which stands solidly on God’s word. When the storm of life comes, the wise builder is able to weather it, while the foolish man is destroyed.
Those who follow Jesus’ teaching are like the wise man who built his house on a rock. They are able to survive the storms of life, while those who do not follow are like the foolish man who built his house on sand.
