God Promises Provision – Philippians 4:19

God Promises Provision

God Promises Provision

When we are struggling and facing a crisis in our lives, it is easy to get discouraged. We start to feel like we are circling the same mountain and not making progress in our life, but we don’t realize that it is God who is leading us on the path that will ultimately lead us to His Promised Land.

Our heavenly Father wants to give us the supernatural peace that surpasses our understanding when we trust in Him and His Word. He has a PROMISE for each of our circumstances and He WILL provide what we need, when we need it!

The story of Hagar in Genesis is a great example of this promise and provision from God. When Hagar was in the desert, an angel appeared to her and told her to do two things.

1. Go to your son and pick him up, (Genesis 21:17). This simple act of redirection gets her eyes off of the pain of her situation and onto what she has been blessed with.

2. Make your desires known to God in everything through prayer and petition together with thanksgiving.

When you are in the midst of a struggle, it is easy to get overwhelmed by our emotions and our worries. Paul is teaching believers how to be content in their circumstances, so they don’t let worry and worldly desires control them.

In the Old Testament, God establishes covenant promises to sustain His people through their slavery, wilderness wandering, and rebellion. In Philippians 4:19, Paul reminds believers that they can rely on these promises of God’s care. They are not just a blessing in the future, but they are a promise to sustain their life and ministry right now.
