Psalm 13 American Standard Version (ASV) Public Domain
Prayer for help in affliction
13Â How long, O Jehovah? wilt thou forget me for ever?
How long wilt thou hide thy face from me?
2Â How long shall I take counsel in my soul,
Having sorrow in my heart all the day?
How long shall mine enemy be exalted over me?
3 Consider and answer me, O Jehovah my God:
Lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death;
4Â Lest mine enemy say, I have prevailed against him;
Lest mine adversaries rejoice when I am moved.
5Â But I have trusted in thy lovingkindness;
My heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.
6Â I will sing unto Jehovah,
Because he hath dealt bountifully with me.
Be Honest With God That You Are Hurting – Psalm 13
If you haven’t prayed Psalm 13 recently, or maybe have never read it, it can be very challenging to be honest with God when you are hurting. But if you can learn to be honest with Him about the things that are hard and uncomfortable in your life, He will meet you where you are and bring healing into your life.
How to Pray – Psalm 13
You can pray through this psalm anytime you need to be honest with God about something. This prayer may include words of anger, worship, or sorrow. It’s important to note that these are only a few possible responses.
Many of us have been in times where we have felt as if we were abandoned by God. It is normal to feel that way, but we must remember that God never leaves our side and He always cares for us.
