God Promises that Nothing Can Separate Us from Him – Romans 8:35
It’s easy to get caught up in the daily grind of life and forget our relationship with our creator. When you’re going through a difficult time and feel like it could all fall apart, remember that there’s no force in the universe that can separate you from God’s love.
Paul is talking to a group of fellow believers in Romans, people who believe that Jesus is the Son of God and that he died for their sins and was raised on the third day. This group of people is now under the influence of the Holy Spirit, which means that they have a part of God with them always.
The rest of the verse lists off all kinds of things that can’t separate us from God’s love: angels, rulers (principalities, demons), powers, heights of space, depths of oceans, and everything else in all of creation. This list isn’t exhaustive, but it will be enough to keep you grounded in your faith and help you to persevere through tough times.
Despite all of the adversity that has come into their lives, Paul had a firm belief in the love of God for them. This was a very good thing for him, because he knew that even though his circumstances might have been terrible at the time, he was still held in God’s loving arms.
