One of the best descriptions of the church of Jesus is found in Acts 2:41-47. This passage describes the first and second generations of the early church. The latter is made up of new converts. And while the church is not yet perfect, it is certainly on the move.
There are two main groups: the apostles and the 120 disciples. A third group was made up of about three thousand new converts. These individuals were not as numerous, but still counted as part of the church.
On this particular day, the apostles and the 120 disciples performed the following:
A group of 12 men could baptize seven hundred twenty people in about four and a half hours. They also gave out the requisite number of baptismal tidbits.

In the grand scheme of things, however, the most impressive feat was not even mentioned in the text. Perhaps it was the tiniest miracle.
The most impressive feat was the display of the Holy Spirit in the form of visible tongues of fire. Apparently, this was not a novelty. It was common for the apostles to speak in other languages while the Holy Spirit was working.
Another good example of the Holy Spirit’s work was in the miracle of the resurrection. When Jesus came back to life, the disciples were changed from cowards to heroes. Their lives were turned upside down.
